Beginning the Buddha's Path

Beginning the Buddha’s Path is a six-week group that is offered several times throughout the year. Each weekly meeting begins with a period of guided meditation practice and time for questions from participants concerning current challenges on and off the cushion. The groups emphasize three key aspects of the Buddha’s path:

  • Developing a regular meditation practice

  • Understanding the Buddha’s perspective on how to live a happier life

  • Bringing mindful awareness to daily life activities

Along with practicing meditation, participants are given readings and activities to work with at home in between classes. Participants are expected to commit to at least 30 minutes each day for practicing meditation and other class-related activities.

Participants are also asked to commit to being present for all six of the group sessions unless there is a major conflict, such as illness or previously scheduled travel plans.

Please note: pre-registration is required in order to participate in this group. To pre-register, or to request more information, please visit the Contact page.

This group will meet in the Dharma Friends Community Meditation Hall. If you wish to attend and need information on the exact location, please send us a note via the Contact page.
